what we do

Tackling climate change using ancestrally-grounded methods

The main issue the team seeks to address is drought, which has severely impacted Pucachupa. We focus on q'ochas due to their ancient use and their great potential to mitigate the effects of drought. The team hopes to continue this work and maintain collaboration with Pucachupa for the future stewardship of water resources. We strive to respect and uphold the sovereignty of Pucachupa and all campesino communities. Q'ochas Resilientes is guided by what is most critical to Pucachupa community members and the methods for addressing them are also created through iterative processes of community meetings and feedback.

Who we are

Students inspired to make change

Today, the work touches many disciplines and has grown to encompass goals of clean water, of restoring relationships with water. Workshops and dialogues have blossomed from the project that we never expected.
